The SuperS Cut Resistant Gloves PU Coated offer superior hand protection with high-level cut resistance, durable PU coating, comfortable fit, breathability, and enhanced dexterity. They are ideal for various industries, including manufacturing, construction, and automotive.
These gloves combine a cut-resistant liner (such as HPPE, steel or glass fibre, or other engineered yarns) with a polyurethane (PU) coating on the palm and often fingers. The PU coating improves grip, abrasion resistance, and handling, while the liner protects against cuts.
Look for EN 388 (mechanical hazards: abrasion, cut, tear, puncture), EN ISO 21420 for general glove requirements, ANSI/ISEA 105 for cut / abrasion / puncture ratings, and ISO 13997 for higher cut performance. Ratings are expressed in levels (e.g. EN cut level D or C, ANSI A4, A5, A6 etc.).
By standardized test methods: e.g. EN 388 (blade cut or ISO variant), ANSI/ISEA cut test (ASTM F2992). These tests measure how much force is needed to cut through the liner material. Higher cut level = more protection but usually less flexibility.
PU (polyurethane) coatings are thinner than some coatings, offering better dexterity and feel, especially for fine-handling tasks. They also tend to provide good grip in dry or slightly damp conditions, better abrasion resistance in high-wear zones, and can be more comfortable in hot/humid conditions compared to thicker rubber or nitrile coatings.
Size should allow snug fit; glove should cover palm and fingers without slack. Gauge refers to the thickness of the liner knit (e.g. 10-gauge, 13-gauge, 18-gauge) — lower gauge = thicker, more protective but less dexterous; higher gauge = more flexibility & tactile sensitivity.
They are **not** cut-proof. Extremely sharp edges, high speed blades, or long continuous exposure can breach protection. PU coatings may degrade under heavy oil, chemical exposure, or high heat. Also, limp or stretched liners/coating reduce protection.
Keep gloves clean—wipe off debris, avoid exposure to harsh chemicals not compatible with PU, let them dry naturally, avoid exposing to direct heat. Replace when liner fibres break, the PU coating cracks or peels, or grip is significantly reduced.
When visible wear: holes, liner exposed, coating damaged; when performance (cut/abrasion) appears degraded; when comfort or fit is lost; or after any incident that might compromise safety (e.g. cut through liner).
